The penthouse for this project of a multi-storey residential building in Walthamstow represents one of the highlights of this project.

Set on the 5th and 6th floor of the building, the penthouse design was the initial reason why the client approached us in first instance.

The initial idea was for Square One Architects to be involved in the redesign of the internal layout of these two floors. With time the project scope became larger to include the other floors off the property.

Our contribution to the project included the rationalization of the internal floor plan in order to include a large kitchen and dining area, two generous bedrooms including a master bedroom and a large family bathroom.

The internal stair led to the 6th floor where the main living space of the property could be found. From here large glazed surfaces provided both daylight and access to a very spacious terrace with a glass balustrade.

Multi-storey residential building in Walthamstow

New project: Multi-Storey resi building in Walthamstow

We have been appointed to undertake the interior and lighting design of 9 apartments within a multi-storey residential building in Walthamstow.

As leading resi Architects in London we were very pleased to engage in the process of designing and building a larger scale development and we were very pleased with the result.

We were appointed in 2016 by a developer company to design the interiors and artificial lighting for a multi-storey residential building in Walthamstow.

The developer had already obtained planning approval for the construction using another firm, however they were not totally happy with the internal layouts of the units the penthouse, where they thought the space could be optimized.

Square One Architects proposed several amendments to the internal layout of the property producing new plans but keeping the exterior of the building as originally designed in order to reflect what had been shown and agreed with the Council in the planning drawings.

In this instance Square One Architects produced updated plans, internal elevations and new lighting layouts for the new building providing a very relevant amount of additional information for the contractor to price and subsequently to build.

It was a very interesting project with a challenging brief due to tight deadlines and high standard expected by the client, nevertheless we enjoyed the process thoroughly and were very please to add a larger scale scheme to our rich project portfolio.

Flat in Primrose Hill

Square One Architects (SOA) have been appointed to conduct an extensive and detail-oriented feasibility study for the development of two luxurious flats in the serene and highly sought-after Primrose Hill neighbourhood. SOA will carefully analyse various aspects such as the local planning regulations, site conditions, and potential design options, all with the aim of providing our clients with comprehensive recommendations for the successful realization of their vision.

The client approached us with an exciting proposition to transform the roof space of one of their flats in Camden. Neighbouring developments served as inspirations and showcased the potential to utilize rooftops creatively, making the project even more promising.

On this occasion, Square One Architects will produce a comprehensive feasibility study proposal to include a new roof extension, aimed at transforming the existing structure into a new flat. Our team will explore potential design options, and consider the viability of the project from both an architectural and planning perspective. The proposed roof extension not only adds significant square footage to the property but also presents an exciting opportunity to optimize the use of space, enhance natural light, and create a modern living environment for future residents.

Following the preparation of a detailed sketch design, our next step will involve carefully assessing the feasibility of the roof extension project. To proceed, we intend to initiate a meaningful conversation with the Camden Council, utilizing their pre-planning application services. This proactive approach will allow us to gather valuable insights and guidance, ensuring that our design aligns effectively with the local regulations and requirements set forth by the council. By engaging in these discussions and leveraging the expertise of the Camden Council, we aim to streamline the approval process and create an innovative and compliant roof extension design for our client.
